Adventures with Jamie’s Whaling Station
Since 1982 when Jamie Bray formed the first whale watching tour company on the west coast of Vancouver Island, he’s been blazing trails and boat wakes with world-class adventures including whale and bear watching, Hot Springs Cove tours, kayaking tours, sea lion tours and more.
A tourism pioneer known as "the whale guy," Jamie’s business and local impact has spanned 30 years, growing from one converted 42’ fishing vessel to a fleet of cruisers and zodiacs running adventure tours from Tofino and Ucluelet.
With 20,000 grey whales now showing up on queue for their annual migration, boat tours are buzzing with excited whale watchers heading out to spectacular Clayoquot Sound for a closer look.
We’re excited too! For Spring Break, we’ve teamed up with Jamie’s Whaling Station for an exclusive Pacific Sands offer – stay with us between March 9 and May 17 and enjoy a 2 for 1 Family Whale Watching Special. A $69 value, kids 18 and under get to tour for free and they’ll have a whale of a story to tell their friends back home!
But that’s just the beginning.
With our free daily Kid’s Camps, nightly Smores Roasts, and the Annual Pacific Rim Whale Festival March 17 to 25, kids will be talking about this Spring Break for some time. Chances are the "big kids" will get to enjoy some downtime too.
It’s not too late to make plans for your family escape to Pacific Sands beachfront Tofino accommodations. Our fully-equipped kitchens make it easy to pack for your family’s favourite meals. There’s also a selection of games and mountain of DVD movies to choose from… so you really just need to remember to bring layers, a camera and your sense of adventure!
