Family Time-out in Tofino
It’s here! Summertime…that season when families get to enjoy downtime and precious time together. Time to take a breather from the busy-ness of family schedules. Tofino is a place where families are transported to a simpler time when vacations were spent splashing in the surf, eating ice cream, and napping in a hammock.
Uncomplicated and unplugged, you could say time kind of stops here.
We know this well because Pacific Sands was built on family. And whether your family is new to Tofino or has been coming for generations, you’re going to love our summer line-up of fun (and free) family activities.
Tofino is year-round playground, but things definitely heat up in July and August! From organized games and nightly movies to the simple pleasure of a Cox Bay tide pool, check out how we do summer:
COMPLIMENTARY FAMILY ACTIVITIES
Kid’s Camps – daily from 9:30 to 11:00am
Where else can kids discover the magic of a tide-pool, stroll through the jaw-dropping wisdom of an ancient rainforest, learn handy survival skills and get cozy with sea lions?! Free to young guests all summer long, kids love the fun adventures around the Resort and parents enjoy the break…sounds like everybody wins. More >>
Daily Beach Games
Like cruise directors, only beachside, we’ve got entertainment handled with organized beach games for the whole family. Check the board in Guest Services for the daily Game Plan. You can also help yourself to beach toys, boogie boards and more from the Beach Toy Box located next to the Herb Garden.
S’mores Roasts – nightly from 6:00 to 7:30pm
Little kids, big kids, who doesn’t love the ooey, gooey goodness of a s’more?! We’ve got the sticks and all the fixin’s at the new fire-pit, located between the Beachfront Suites and Lodge Suites. Mmmm…bring your sweet tooth!
Family Movies – nightly from 8:00 to 9:30pm
After you finish your s’mores, it’s showtime! Grab some popcorn and a beanbag chair in the Surf Shack for a family-friendly movie.
Yoga Classes – Mondays and Saturdays from 7:30 to 8:30am
As if it could get more zen here, bring your yoga gear and downward dog to enjoy complimentary yoga classes at the Surf Shack. Space is limited, so be sure to sign-up in Guest Services.
FUN EXTRAS
Beachside BBQ – Friday & Saturday nights; 5:30 to 8:00pm
You’re welcome to help yourself to our BBQ stations, but if the family chef wants a night off, head to our onsite Surfside Grill for a mouth-watering Beachside BBQ menu on Friday and Saturday nights. Menu and details >>
Bike Rentals
Do some 2-wheel exploring with our spanky new fleet of ultralight, 3-speed Priority Bicycles. Cruise the beach or take the easy paved trail into town for lunch or shopping at the Saturday Public Market. Rent for a full or half day, complete with helmets and bike locks. More >>
Family Surfing Lessons
Surf in/surf out – that’s what it means when you’re this close to the beach. For a fun, family adventure in the waves, book lessons with Surf Sister Surf School including equipment from our onsite Surf Shack. Convenient, accredited and safe for all ages and abilities.
