The Scoop on Tofino’s Ice Cream Spots
What goes best with a warm summer day? Duh, ice cream and the voluntary brain freeze we crave!
Tofino’s growing frozen treat eateries include:
Tofino Licks – Serving ice cream sundaes that celebrate and collaborate with Tofino restaurants and cafés, the hand-crafted, artisanal selections include Tacofino’s Chilli Chocolate Diablo Cookie and Tofino Coffee Roasting Co. Cold Brew Float.
Chocolate Tofino – Earning accolades like, “The best handmade chocolates and gelato on Vancouver Island” from Frommer’s Travel Guides, this family-run eatery also crafts handmade gelato and sorbet. The dizzying selection is half the fun with flavours like Salted Caramel (with a hint of Vancouver Island Sea Salt); Lavender Honey (made with organic lavender from Happy Valley Farms and Babe’s Wildflower Honey); or occasional, summer treats like Toasted S’mores (with toasted, fresh marshmallows and chocolate-coated graham wafers). Brace yourself.

SHED – This family-friendly restaurant may be known for its burgers, bowls, and brews, but big and little kids can’t get enough of the dessert menu. That’s what happens once you try fan favourites like Nanny Kane’s Cherry Sundae, Affogato, or the Chocolate Crunch Sundae, complete with rainbow sprinkles. (We warned you.)
The Candy Jar & Ice Cream – Nirvana for those with a sweet tooth, explore candy from all over the world along with a range of ice cream flavours, including Bubble Gum and Rocky Mountain Raspberry.
Green Waves – This “Tofino Salad Joint” also has plant-based Cocofino Fro-Yo on tap, including changing flavours layered with your choice of toppings like fruit, granola, cacao nibs, and coconut. Goodness without the guilt!
