FAQ: Pet Stays at Pacific Sands Beach Resort

Are all suites at Pacific Sands pet-friendly?

Not all suites are designated pet-friendly; however, we offer a wide selection of pet-friendly, beachfront and ocean view suites. Look for the pet-friendly symbol when booking to ensure the right accommodation.

What amenities are provided for dogs during our stay?

Your pup will be welcomed with dog dishes, treats, and pet towels, plus access to convenient dog-wash stations, biodegradable bags, and disposal bins throughout the Resort.

Are there any rules for dogs on the beach and around the resort?

To keep everyone happy and safe, dogs must be leashed on Resort grounds. Cox Bay is a public beach, and local bylaws require dogs to be on leash at all times.

We also ask guests to clean up after their pets and be mindful of local wildlife, including migratory shorebirds.

Can I leave my dog alone in my suite?

We ask that dogs not be left unattended in your suite for extended periods. Tofino is best experienced together, from beach walks to forest trails. We encourage you to bring your pup along for the adventure!

Pet Policy

We look forward to welcoming you and your furry friend to Pacific Sands Beach Resort and want you to enjoy your time here, however, we also need to ensure the happiness of our other guests. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in reviewing and following our Pet Policy.

Pacific Sands Pet Policy:
  • We welcome dogs only; a limit of 2 dogs per suite.
  • Please register your pet when you check-in.
  • A one-time pet fee of $50.00 per pet will be charged to your guest account.
  • We do not permit pets of non-registered guests.
  • If you are visiting someone staying at the resort, please ensure that your pet stays in the designated, pet-friendly suite.
  • Pet owners must leash their dogs around the Resort property at all times.
  • Note that Cox Bay is considered a public area and a Tofino By-Law prohibits unleashed dogs on all local beaches.
  • Be sure to pick up after your companion; doggy bags and disposal containers are conveniently located throughout the Resort.
  • We ask that you do not leave your pet unattended in your suite for extended periods.
  • Dogs that bark excessively, act aggressively, or disturb others will be asked to leave the Resort.
  • We provide dog wash stations for your convenience as well as pet towels.
  • We ask that pets do not sit directly on furniture or bedding.
  • Note that Cox Bay is home to many migratory shorebirds; please help protect their natural habitat by ensuring your pet is under control.
