Some of the most memorable stories begin close to home with the people we love and the places that bring us together. Pacific Sands is proud to have helped sponsor two films that capture those connections. Forward and KINDER tell the incredible stories of siblings, surfing, and lives shaped by adventure. Both have deep ties to the West Coast, and on December 6th, they’re sharing the big screen in Tofino. Get a glimpse of each film’s trailer below, then join us for an evening celebrating family, community, and the pull of the ocean.

Surfing. Skiing. Family. Community. When we first shared the story behind Forward, these threads drew us into the heartwarming tale of triplet brothers Clay and Tanner March.
Set against British Columbia’s rugged landscapes, the documentary follows the brothers’ outdoor adventures and explores what becomes possible when accessibility, creativity, and community come together. Clay, who lives with cerebral palsy, and Tanner share a love of waves and snow. They also share a determination to experience them together.
At its heart is a family story shaped by love, teamwork, and resilience. Since its release last fall, Forward has earned recognition and awards at more than 20 film festivals around the world. Now, Tofino audiences can experience that story together.

For Tofino’s Mathea and Sanoa Olin, surfing has always been part of their shared story. Growing up has taken the professional surfing sisters in different directions.
Directed by Nate Laverty, KINDER brings them together for their first film since childhood. With one sister enjoying early motherhood and the other pursuing a place on surfing’s Championship Tour, opportunities to chase a swell together have become harder to find.
Their reunion in the water offers a heartfelt look at sisterhood, motherhood, and the inspiration they continue to find in each other as their lives evolve. For anyone who has tried to make time for someone they love amid changing responsibilities, it’s a story that reaches well beyond surfing.
