Best in Beaches

The rugged, sandy shores of Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park recently earned national and international accolades for beach awesome-ness, and so on behalf of the Tofino area, we humbly pull-up-a-log and say thanks!

Chesterman Beach – named one of the 50 Best Beaches in the World by UK newspaper The Guardian. Earning 33rd spot overall, the British daily gave it “Best Wild and Remote” honours for its raw, ruggedness. See the full article and TV coverage.

Long Beach – this spectacular 16+ kilometre sandy stretch was named one of Canada’s Top 10 Beaches by Reader’s Digest, a Canadian institution and leading multi-platform media company for close to 70 years. Check out the full line-up of national beach celebrities.

It’s not the first time Tofino has earned beach raves. In recent years the area was voted #1 in Canada in the Travelers’ Choice Best Beaches Awards on TripAdvisor – the word’s largest travel website for unbiased travel reviews.

Our own Cox Bay was spotlighted along with the above usual suspects.

The consistent comments in all of the kudos include the abundance of beach activities — from whale-spotting thru water sports — with a rainforest and mountain backdrop.

Whether you’re thinking about a spring/summer escape to enjoy Feast or the Tofino Food and Wine Festival, or a fall/winter getaway for Storm Watching season, take your pick of pristine beaches, all showcasing their own unique surf, beachscape, and outlook.
