About our website

Our website allows all users to access information about Pacific Sands Beach Resort and to browse and search information such as with respect to our resort and various offerings. Our website also allows users to make purchases, view and share videos, contact us, access third-party websites and applications, make reservations and apply for employment, among other functions.

By accessing and using our website, you are consenting to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this policy, as amended from time to time. If you do not wish to provide your consent, please do not use our website.

What is “personal information”?

The information that we collect about all website users and customers

When you browse and use our website, we automatically gather and store certain information about the visit for the purposes of administering the website, assessing system performance, improving web services and maintaining website security and management. However, our website logs are not personally identifiable, and we do not attempt to identify users from this information.

In these cases, we may use your information to respond to you, contact you, deliver services, to answer a question, respond to a complaint, for employment recruitment, for marketing and promotional purposes or for other purposes permitted by law. This information usually includes your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and, for bookings, credit card number (with valid expiration date) or other payment information. We may also require you to provide personal identification with your date of birth and photo to verify this information.


In addition, like most websites, our site uses “cookies,” which enables us to remember and process your reservation and understand and save your preferences for future reference. A cookie is a commonly used piece of software that tracks your website visits and preferences and is capable of enhancing your visit to the site.

Cookies are used to collect anonymous traffic data to assist us with web analytics. Web analytics are tools that analyze how the website is used and to improve visitors’ online experience. These tools work by tagging web pages to capture a limited amount of data, including IP addresses. None of the data compiled using these tools can be used by us to identify you.

For example, we use traffic log cookies to identify which pages of our website are being used. This helps us analyze data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes. Do we disclose any information to third parties?

The personal information we collect through the website is stored on servers based in the United States. We may share some information with our service providers to help maintain, improve or trouble-shoot the website. If you make a reservation online, we use a third-party vendor to process your booking, WebRezPro Property Management System. Through WebRezPro, all supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted using a secure server and then encrypted. This information is only available to those individuals with special access rights to such systems, and who are required by law or contract to keep that information confidential.
With the exception of WebRezPro, we will only share your personal information outside the Pacific Sands Beach Resort with your consent, where it is required or authorized by law.

Some examples are:
(a) when it is required to provide you with services you have requested, in which case we will consider you to have given implied consent (e.g. surf lessons);
(b) if your stay has been paid for by a third party, we will provide billing information to the paying party; or
(c) if you have failed to any pay amounts owed to Pacific Sands Beach Resort.

Any such disclosure of your personal information by the Pacific Sands Beach Resort to a third party will be made on a confidential basis conditioned upon the information being used solely for the purpose for which it has been disclosed.

Throughout the website, you may find links to third-party websites. Please note that Pacific Sands Beach Resort is not responsible for the privacy policies or content on third-party sites. We recommend that you read the privacy policies of such third-party websites for your information.

How do we protect your personal information?

We take steps to ensure that personal information is processed accurately and completely. Sensitive personal information is kept secure, be it a protected database or locked filing cabinet. We train our staff in privacy and confidentiality practices. Furthermore, we take steps to ensure that only appropriate individuals have access to your information and only use that information for the purpose for which they have been granted access. Compliance with these standards and with all applicable privacy laws is reviewed from time to time and revised as needed.

How do I access or make changes to my personal information?

Under applicable privacy laws, you have the right to request access to your personal information within our custody or control. You also have the right to request correction of your personal information and to be told how your information is collected, used and disclosed by us.
