Ultimate Tofino Surf + Turf – Surfside Grill Opening Soon

Commercial fisherman Jeff Mikus and chef Jesse Blake’s Wildside Grill has been a favourite eatery for locals and loyal visitors for over 8 years. From an upscale twist on seafood, to unique meat dishes sourced from Vancouver Island farms, their Outside Break parking lot location has earned raving fan status – including us. Which is why we’re SO excited the boys are days away from opening Surfside Grill – a sister location right here at Pacific Sands.

Just in time for summer, get ready to experience a ‘source to table’ philosophy that’s as fresh as it is delicious.

How fresh?

Don’t be surprised to watch Jeff come in off the boats with a Sockeye salmon, flop it on the prep table, and cut it up for Jesse to cook and feature as the new special of the day.

The finishing touches on the brand spanking new kitchen are in the home stretch, as is the outdoor seating including picnic tables, 4 fire-pits, and a 14-foot communal table.

Located right next door to our onsite Surf Sister Surf Shack, it’s as surf and turf as it gets in Tofino – and it’s all steps from the beach and your suite.

“Beach culture has grown so much in this town, so to be opening a new location on Cox Bay, next to Surf Sister, at a resort as iconic as Pacific Sands is beyond awesome,” states Jeff Mikus. “We’re going to open the new Surfside Grill with a classic beach menu including fish & chips, fish tacos, burgers and catch-of-the-day specials. Soft ice cream and churros will be on the menu too, so kids are going to love it.

“Actually, as the first ever onsite restaurant for Pacific Sands, it’s going to be particularly cool and convenient for guests. We’ll be open year-round, and also totally equipped to cater onsite weddings and events.”
