From December 2 through December 31, 2025, we’re proud to once again partner with the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust (CBT) and their annual Holiday Giving Catalogue to uplift local charities doing essential work in our spectacular backyard of Clayoquot Sound—a UNESCO Biosphere Region.
And to help those dollars go even further? Pacific Sands is again matching donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000. Which means your gift immediately doubles its impact—supporting the land, waters, wildlife, and people that make this place unforgettable.

Supporting Those Who Sustain Clayoquot Sound
Established in 2000—when Clayoquot Sound was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Region—the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust is the only organization in Canada that serves as both a biosphere region and a community foundation. As part of the global network of 1,800 UNESCO Biosphere Regions, the CBT advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals locally through environmental protection, education, research, and community well-being.
Each year, the Holiday Giving Catalogue highlights registered charities making a real difference in the region, including:
- WildSafeBC
- Raincoast Education Society
- Redd Fish Restoration Society
- Tla-o-qui-aht Tribal Parks Guardians
- and many more grassroots organizations
With rising costs and increasing demand for services, these groups are facing more pressure than ever. Your donation directly supports their work in conservation, youth education, habitat restoration, food security, accessibility, and community health.
NEW THIS YEAR: Support the Whole Region
Not sure which organization to choose? Or visiting Tofino and unfamiliar with the local groups?
This year, CBT has added a powerful new option: Support the Whole Region.
This pooled fund allows donors to contribute to every participating charity at once, uplifting the full spectrum of environmental and community programs throughout Clayoquot Sound. It’s an easy, meaningful way to make a broad impact—perfect for visitors who feel connected to the region but may not know its individual organizations.
And yes, donations to Support the Whole Region are also matched by Pacific Sands.
How to Double Your Impact
The 2025 matching donation window launches December 2 and runs straight through midnight on December 31. (And early gifts already coming in are being matched, too!)
Here’s how it works:
- Choose an organization in our Giving Catalogue, select Support the Whole Region, or pick one of our Community Funds
- Make a contribution
- Pacific Sands automatically matches your donation, up to $10,000
For example:
- A $250 gift instantly becomes $500.
- A $500 gift becomes $1,000.
That’s double the habitat restoration. Double the education programs. Double the community support.
