FEAST Tofino – Chef’s Long Table Event

The boat-to-table philosophy behind Tofino’s 6th annual FEAST festival (May 6 – 22) is about to get very literal with a Chef’s Long Table event right here at Pacific Sands on May 12th. From a spectacular beachfront tent and looooong table for 75 lucky diners, to a 6-course meal paired and prepared by 11 local and visiting chefs, it’s an ambitious al fresco dining experience – and we’ve got tickets.

Like the ultimate Tofino restaurant without walls, corks will start popping at 6:30pm, just enough time to settle into your ocean front seats to sip and take in the view.

Then at 7:00, it’s showtime for these talented local chefs:

Ian Riddick – The Great Room at Long Beach Lodge Resort
Warren Barr – The Pointe Restaurant at Wickaninnish Inn
Matty Kane – Shelter restaurant
Nick Nutting – Wolf in the Fog restaurant
Lisa Ahier – SoBo restaurant
Dylan Tilston – Fish Store and Oyster Bar
Billy Feltmate – Sea Shanty restaurant

And like a dream kitchen, they’re teaming up with the following visiting chefs who, besides celebrated culinary skill, have one notable thing in common – they’re all top TV cooking show competitors:

Lora Kirk – After cutting her teeth in the kitchen with renowned chefs such as Gordon Ramsey, Lora has spent close to two decades earning top honours and media accolades, including two Five Diamond awards. She was also invited to cook at NYC’s James Beard House and in Kitchen Stadium on Iron Chef America. She’s now teamed up with Food Network chef Lynn Crawford* at Toronto’s acclaimed Ruby Watchco restaurant.

Amanda Cohen – A vegetarian chef with Canuck roots, Amanda owns and cooks at Dirt Candy, an award-winning vegetable focused restaurant in New York – the first of it’s kind in the city. In addition to being recognized by the Michelin Guide five years in a row, she’s won awards from the likes of Gourmet Magazine and vied for kitchen domination on Iron Chef America – another trail-blazing achievement as the first vegetarian chef to compete.

Anita Lo – Within a year of bursting onto New York’s culinary scene with the opening of Annisa in Greenwich Village, Anita was voted one of ten “Best New Chefs in America” by Food & Wine magazine. Since then, she’s earned numerous awards and headlines including 3-stars from the New York Times in 2014. A Malaysian American with a passion for French language and cuisine, Anita is also a fierce kitchen competitor, appearing on the first season of Iron Chef America as well as Top Chef Masters and Chopped: All-Stars Tournament.

Nicole Gomes – Classically trained at Vancouver’s Dubrulle Culinary School, Nicole apprenticed in Paris before returning to work with chef David Hawksworth (now chef/owner of the acclaimed Hawksworth). She was drawn to Calgary and Catch restaurant where she worked with chef Michael Noble and his team, including Nick Nutting (now at Tofino’s award-winning Wolf in the Fog). After competing in Top Chef Canada, she took a business course and focused on opening a catering company – Nicole Gourmet – as well as the southern-style Cluck n’Cleaver eatery.
